Preparation, Presentation, Perfection. I reached out to Teisha and Brown Sugar & Spice Co after seeing her tutorial on making biscuits on Instagram live. I was planning for my 5th year wedding anniversary and given the Covid-19 pandemic I was not able to go through with my original plan or even go out to eat at a fancy restaurant. I thought it would be great to hire someone who can bring the 5-star restaurant experience to the comfort of my home. I was impressed by how professional she was in guiding me through the steps. With her culinary expertise and experience, she was fully prepared to help me make the event a memorable one. I was able to personalize each course of the dinner from the appetizer to even the desserts. Teisha also provided some suggestions which were very helpful. When my wife saw the surprise presentation of the table with the flowers, table runner, plates, candlelight, and silverware in our backyard, she was very impressed. The presentation of the food, the smell, the taste, and the service was pure perfection. Teisha used our kitchen and truly brought the feel of being in a 5-star restaurant. Working with Brown Sugar Spice Co has been a pleasure. Teisha, owner, was very understanding when asked to use her services on such a short notice. She didn’t mind all the questions I asked and definitely catered to my needs. Great customer service. I had a big order, half pans of Peruvian chicken, jerk glazed pineapple chicken wings, rice and peas, blackened salmon, sweet plantains, and sweet potatoes with yams. The food was cooked to perfection. Very well seasoned, very well put together, and FRESH!!! The food was not oily or fatty. When thinking about throwing a surprise dinner for my mom's birthday, cooking for my sister and I was out of the question. So I recommended Teisha as I have had her food before. And her food exceeded our expectations beyond what we could imagine. Everyone enjoyed the food and pleasantly surprised at how good the Callaloo was. Overall, I am impressed with the high quality customer service, excellent communication, quick delivery on the day of my events, and most importantly, the amazing foods and desserts. Particularly, the pineapple chicken, the wings (BBQ, jerk, and mango), chicken and waffles, the red velvet cupcakes are my absolute favorite! The cakes are designed so beautifully and are very tasty! Brown Sugar & Spice Co. was amazing! The food tastes just as good as it looks and was the perfect choice for our intimate dinner party. Our guests could not stop raving especially about the spinach artichoke puffs which was a hit. We also enjoyed the pineapple jerk wings as well as the stew chicken. I didn’t know what to expect when I placed my first order with Brown Sugar & Spice Co. because I found them on Instagram. But let me tell you I’m glad I gave them a chance. The food was so flavor full that it had my guest asking, who made the mac & cheese?, who made the empanadas?, yo who made the ribs? and on and on. Teisha took her time helping me think thru my food needs based on a few items that I already had. After my first order, approx. 2-3 weeks I placed another order to have even more of her creations. Needless to say, she’s my caterer for all of our parties(we have about 3-4 every year). What’s life about, if you’re not celebrating with great food! Brown Sugar & Spice Co. is one of THE best dining experiences I’ve had. My wife and I had our last date before the birth of our daughter and Teisha made this date like no other.
